Do I need my own API keys?
Yes — and that's the whole point. The Vibe Father runs on the model subscriptions and API keys you already have: a Claude plan, a ChatGPT plan, Gemini, Kimi, OpenRouter, even free local models through Ollama. We never proxy your tokens or add a markup. Your keys stay on your machine, in the macOS Keychain.
Which CLIs and models does it work with?
The app auto-detects around 22 coding CLIs — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Kimi CLI, Aider, OpenCode, Goose, Cline, Crush and more — plus 10+ model providers, including local models via Ollama. If a new CLI ships tomorrow, you can point a terminal at it the same day: the harness is deliberately tool-agnostic.
Is it Mac only?
macOS today; Windows is in active development. Your license covers every platform we ship, so buying now means you get the Windows build the day it lands.
What exactly does the license cover?
The full app — every feature, no tiers, no feature gates. Monthly and yearly licenses stay active while you're subscribed; the lifetime license is yours forever and includes all future updates. Model usage is between you and your providers, so there are no token meters on our side.
How many machines can I use it on?
A license activates one machine at a time. Switching to a new machine is self-serve: deactivate in your dashboard and activate on the new one — no support ticket needed.
What's the refund policy?
A 7-day money-back guarantee on your initial purchase, any plan. If it doesn't click for you, email us within 7 days of buying and we refund it — after that, all sales are final. See the Refunds page for the fine print.
Is my code sent to your servers?
No. The Vibe Father is local-first: it runs on your machine and your code travels directly to the model providers you configured — exactly as it would if you ran those CLIs yourself. Our servers only see licensing (your email and license status). Secrets live in the macOS Keychain, and risky integration actions ask before they run.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
You keep full access until the end of the period you paid for. After that the license stops validating and the app locks — but your projects are ordinary folders and git repos on your disk, so nothing is trapped inside. Resubscribe any time and pick up where you left off.
I'm not a "real" programmer. Is this for me?
Yes. Autonomy is set in plain English — "Plan first", "Ask each time", "Full auto" — and Vibe coordinates the team, explains what's happening and keeps checkpoints so anything can be undone with one click. Senior engineers get the same power with none of the hand-holding: real terminals, raw CLI access, your own editor.
