Privacy Policy

What we collect, what never leaves your Mac, who we work with, and the rights you have over your data.

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how The Vibe Father (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit thevibefather.com, create an account, purchase a plan, or use The Vibe Father desktop application (together, the “Service”). It also describes your rights and choices. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. This Policy is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service.

The Vibe Father is a native macOS app built to keep your code and your AI credentials on your own machine. We deliberately collect the minimum needed to sell you a license, run your account, and keep the app working.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information — your name (if provided), email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email) from that provider.
  • Billing information — purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive a record of your transaction, plan, and subscription status, and limited details such as the last four digits and card brand. We do not receive or store your full card number, CVC, or complete payment credentials — Stripe handles those under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS obligations.
  • Support communications — if you contact us or submit the contact form, we collect the information you include (such as your email and message).

Information collected automatically

  • License and device data — your license key, a device name/identifier, and sign-in tokens, used to activate the app and enforce “one device at a time.”
  • Website and log data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps) and essential cookies used to keep you signed in and secure the site.
  • Optional diagnostics — if you opt in within the app, limited crash or usage data to help us fix bugs. This is off unless you enable it.

2. What stays on your Mac — and never reaches us

The things developers worry about most are processed locally and are not transmitted to or stored by us in the ordinary course of running the Service:

  • Your source code and files. The app reads and edits your projects on your device.
  • Your API keys and model credentials. These are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device and used to talk to the AI providers you choose — directly from your machine, not through our servers.
  • Your prompts, AI conversations, and generated code. These flow between your Mac and whichever model provider you connect, under that provider's policies. We are not an intermediary for that content.
  • On-device analytics and voice. Where the app offers usage analytics or voice features, those are processed on your device and are not sent to us.

3. How we use information

  • to create and administer your account and provide the Service;
  • to process payments, manage subscriptions, issue and validate licenses, and prevent license abuse;
  • to provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • to secure the Service, detect and prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms;
  • to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations; and
  • where you have opted in, to improve the app using diagnostics.

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data on these bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you purchased); legitimate interests (to secure, support, and improve the Service, and to prevent fraud); consent (for optional diagnostics or marketing, which you can withdraw); and legal obligation (for tax and compliance).

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers that process data on our behalf under contract, such as Stripe (payments), our hosting/infrastructure provider, and, when enabled, an email delivery provider.
  • Third-party AI providers you choose to connect — but only through your own accounts and keys, initiated from your device; we do not route that content.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and protect the site (for example, session and CSRF cookies). We do not use cookies to sell your data. You can control cookies through your browser, though disabling essential cookies may break sign-in.

7. Data retention

We keep account, license, and purchase records for as long as your account or license is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for the period required by our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, after which we delete or anonymize them. You can request deletion of your account data as described below, subject to those obligations.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, storage of secrets in the macOS Keychain on your device, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, update, port, restrict, or delete your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@thevibefather.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

10. U.S. state privacy rights (including California)

We do not sell or “share” (as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended) personal information, and we do not process it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California, and residents of other U.S. states with comparable laws, may request access to or deletion of their personal information and may exercise those rights via hello@thevibefather.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

11. International transfers

We are based in the United States and may process and store information there and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

12. Children

The Service is a professional developer tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18, and in any event not to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
